About the Quasar Expeditions Family
In 1986, the vision of the company's founder, Eduardo Diez, led him to purchase two small boats in the Galapagos Islands that would offer more comfortable accommodations and better personal service than what was currently available. Met by a greatly increasing interest for this style of travel, bookings were constantly improving and the company (then called Quasar Expeditions) was gaining a considerable commercial image which enabled it to continue promoting tourism in the Galapagos Islands. Over the years, Quasar Expeditions continued to grow by expanding its fleet in the Galapagos Islands and offering mainland tours in Ecuador. Today, Quasar Expeditions has five vessels operating in the Galapagos Islands, while continuing to offer high quality tours of mainland Ecuador. The future looks bright for travel in Latin America and Quasar Expeditions is in the search for new destinations and opportunities for travel in hopes of offering its clients greater choices for the vacations of a life time.

In the Galapagos Islands, Quasar Expeditions is a permanent supporter and member of the Charles Darwin Foundation that works to preserve the islands and its endangered species. As a member of Fundacion Natura in Ecuador, Quasar Expeditions also gives funds to preserve all national parks both in mainland Ecuador and in the Galapagos Islands.
